Press release – Paris, April 6, 2018
Bertin IT (CNIM Group) and WALLIX, two software companies providing cyber security solutions, have announced today the signing of a partnership agreement to launch a new product combining DataPeps®, WALLIX's data encryption technology, and CrossinG®, Bertin IT's trusted next generation gateway.
How can we ensure the integrity and confidentiality of sensitive data, particularly data governed by the GRPD, when they are sent by email between a secure network (such as a company network) and an unsecure external infrastructure (including public WiFi and home networks)? That's where WALLIX and Bertin IT come in with the Crypto CrossinG® solution. Mobility, teleworking, foreign travel... no matter where or how the exchanges are made, this gateway will make it possible to combat cyber attacks, secure emails with end-to-end encryption and use a specific security policy depending on the direction of exchanges.
Controlled data exchanges made easy
Crypto CrossinG® combines DataPeps®, WALLIX's encryption solution with security features such as the formal verification of data integrity and authentication, and the advanced security of CrossinG®, Bertin IT's gateway system.
Thanks to its automated key management system, DataPeps® “as a service” encryption technology offers a simple and transparent user experience and does not require any specific steps to set it up. It is available as an email plug-in and is extremely easy to install.
CrossinG® brings with it its defense in depth and protocol conversion mechanisms. It scans transfers for viruses and malware using its antivirus, file format analysis and payload search systems, and enables users to filter authorized files through whitelisting. The gateway's one-way and two-way modes make it possible to configure security rules according to the direction of exchanges, so users can choose to block sending attached files but still receive them, as well as selecting which file types can and cannot be exchanged. Lastly, Crypto CrossinG® makes it possible to trace all exchanges.
A solution for sensitive information systems
Crypto CrossinG® is aimed at all public and private entities responsible for managing sensitive data, such as intellectual property data, information on health or FINANCIAL matters, and personal data. The protection of personal data will be enhanced from May 25, 2018, when the EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) comes into force. Crypto CrossinG® also meets the needs of Operators of Vital Importance (OVIs) in France and Operators of Essential Services (OES) in Europe[1], which will be subject to strict regulations on the protection, control and traceability of their infrastructures and data under the EU's Network and Information Security Directive.
A landmark partnership
This new solution also sees two iconic FrenchTech #cybersecurity players, co-founding members of Hexatrust[2], join forces.
Yves Rochereau, Bertin IT CEO, welcomed the partnership: “We are delighted to have signed this partnership, which once again demonstrates the drive within Hexatrust and its ability to offer Operators of Vital Importance new solutions with the French mark of excellence. Through this partnership, we also hope to open up our business to an indirect distribution model and benefit from the high value added of system integrators. Our goal is to leverage our joint strengths.”
Jean-Noël de Galzain, Chairman of the WALLIX Management Board, said: “This partnership with Bertin IT cements our ambition of building strategic alliances with IT companies in order to grow in the data security market. Against the backdrop of the shift to digital, companies, organizations and particularly Operators of Vital Importance and Operators of Essential Services[3] can now use the products we have developed with Bertin IT to secure their sensitive communication in environments that are both demanding and increasingly interconnected, such as industrial and wide-area networks, and health IT systems, while complying with the GDPR, which comes into force in May.”
