The Attorney General of the State of Connecticut has filed lawsuits against each of the three leading rating agencies, including Fitch Ratings. These suits concern the credit ratings assigned to municipal and public bonds issued in the State.
The Attorney General says that Fitch's ratings did not fairly and accurately reflect the capacity of the State's municipalities and other public entities to meet their FINANCIAL commitments under the bonds on a timely basis.
Fitch believes that the suit is without merit and intends to defend itself vigorously.
