Auplata (Euronext Growth - FR0010397760 - ALAUP), the largest exchange-listed French gold producer, has announced that the first container shipments from South Africa carrying Dieu Merci cyanidation equipment have arrived in French Guiana.
The modules were delivered by container ship on February 15, 2018 at Guiana's Grand Port Maritime in the commune of Rémire-Montjoly. The containers were then shipped to the site by road, then by a barge bought by Auplata specially for the occasion, and then by dirt track. The remaining containers should be delivered to Guiana by late March 2018.
The cyanidation processing modules were ordered from SGS Bateman, a leading engineering firm supplying plant engineering and construction services for the mining industry.
Module assembly will begin in April 2018, supervised by SGS Bateman. Auplata expects to have the plant operational by the 3rd quarter of 2018.
