The Norwegian Municipality of Trondheim has signed a contract worth around 20 million euros (NOK 155 million) to outsource its application management services to Steria for the next five years.
The contract means Steria will provide all central application management services in the municipality which covers 150 applications used by 12,000 people. To do this, Steria will develop a new IT platform split into two data centres, one in Trondheim and the other in Oslo.
As soon as the new platform is available, all applications and data will be migrated across from existing management suppliers. “We will be providing future oriented solutions based on continuous further development of the technology. To users, Trondheim will be seen as a modern and innovative authority,” says Trygve Solem, Director of Business Development at Steria.
The agreement is for a period of five years with an OPTION of a one year extension. “This is undoubtedly one of the largest management agreements we have signed in Norway,” says Trygve Solem.
Trondheim issued an invitation to tender in December last year, and following a prequalification round, the choice was narrowed down to three companies. “We received several excellent bids, but following a comprehensive selection process, we feel confident that Steria is the right partner to manage our applications portfolio,” says Harald Moe, IT Director for the Municipality of Trondheim.
About the Municipality of Trondheim:
